Welcome To The New Inn: The Best In Galgate For Food, Accommodation and Real Ales
The New Inn is a welcoming and traditional public house situated a short drive from the south of Lancaster, adjacent to the main A6. We are a two minute drive from Lancaster University in the centre of the village of Galgate. New tenants Peter, Julie and Hannah Slee took over the business in March 2012 and along with their new chef John Fleet have turned the pub around with excellent new facilities and home-cooked food.
The New Inn is becoming increasingly popular both with traditional pub gers as well as with those looking for excellent pub food and quality accomodation. Once inside The New Inn you will enjoy clean and comfortable surroundings with an old black range with a real log fire in winter and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the Slee family and their staff. This is complimented by a daily and specials menu of delicious and traditional home-made food available Monday-Friday 12-2 and 5-8 (No food service Tuesdays), Saturday 12-8 and Sunday 12-6 serving a traditional roast Sunday lunch.
There is an array of beverages to choose from at the bar with at least two traditional real ales at all times, Carling, Carlsberg, San Miguel, Guinness, Tetleys Smooth and Strongbow Cider, as well as our very reasonbly priced, quality wine list and tea and coffee facilities. For lovers of sport we have two televisions with a choice of sky sports and ESPN. We have disabled access and toilet facilities and a car park for ease of access. We open from midday to 11pm everyday, extended to 12.30am on Friday and Saturday evenings. Also, please take a look at our current menus.
